Once in a while new platforms emerge that reduce the cost and complexity of infrastructure by 10x or 100x
Think of what AWS did for the emergence of Web 2.0 and the Social Web. Instead of having to invest millions in data centers like we did in the dot com bubble, the latest generation of startups could rapidly experiment and iterate - succeed or fail - without burning money on setting up servers.
The result was more experimentation and a greater chance to succeed and scale. The result was a Cambrian explosion of innovation and prosperity on the web.
How many times have you heard "This startup will be Uber for X". Well now Uber can now help you power the on-demand logistics of your next, big Uber for X idea.
This is a big part of the reason why I joined Uber. The executive team and the entire culture really understands the power of giving developers access to the core resources of the company and letting builders #buildmovingexperiences.
I'm so very proud of the Rush and Developer Platform teams for making this new platform available for all developers everywhere. I can not wait to see what they do with it.
